Everything Vegan at Olive Garden

Note: A commenter shared feedback from the manager of an Olive Garden, who said that the information from Olive Garden corporate isn't accurate. I'm reaching out to them and will update this post with any response. Many thanks to Georgia for sharing her experience and the response from the manager!

If you've ever been to Olive Garden as a vegan, you know it can be a challenge (they really, really love cheese). Luckily, there are several vegan meals to choose from, including kid-friendly options!

Let me set the scene—you're having a Sunday lunch at Olive Garden with visiting family (they insisted), and a basket of breadsticks hit the table. Your overbearing uncle waves it in front of your face, a challenge in his eyes. "You can't turn these down, missy! I know you want them!"

Well, guess what, Uncle Bill—I don't have to, because Olive Garden breadsticks are VEGAN!

KV reader Melissa pointed out that Olive Garden wasn't on our Restaurants page, but they do offer what amounts to a full vegan meal (hope you like minestrone soup!). Without further ado, here's a comprehensive list of all of your vegan options at Olive Garden.

Everything Vegan at Olive Garden

  • Breadsticks
  • House salad with no cheese (ask for oil and vinegar instead of Italian Dressing)
  • Minestrone soup
  • Pastas:
    • Angel hair
    • Cavatappi (corkscrew)
    • Fettuccini
    • Gluten-free rotini
    • Rigatoni
    • Small shells
    • Spaghetti
    • Whole-grain linguine
  • Marinara sauce
  • Tomato sauce
  • Steamed broccoli
  • Raspberry sauce (not that there's anything for you to put it on, but I said this list was comprehensive, so...)

There you have it—soup, salad, and breadsticks! Pasta lovers have several options with marinara. If you have kids, the small shells or cavatappi with marinara is probably your best bet, and the steamed broccoli makes a good finger food for toddlers.
